Harrier Organized Races

John Carberry has suggested a downhill race if we can find a hill suitable for the task.

Rick emails from USA to say "John Carberry has suggested a down hill race if we can find a suitable hill? I think Clayton used to do a guess your time run on Pendle that was basically and gently downhill" 24th Feb

Bob Clayton use to do a down hill race from the cairn on top of Pendle to the pub at the "Nick of Pendle" I remember it well as I received the Bob Alexander trophy for my efforts one year This was by default of course - a certain Dave Simpson got completely lost and came back by road!! I at least completed the proper course having run off piste for a while to chase catch and bring home safely Malcolm Richardson (a roar runner who was new to the fells) and heading for disaster. To this very day I have been unable to convince the fell lads of this perhaps the web site will put the record straight and exonerate my navigational skills Brian
