ANYBODY WELCOME.  Including roadies & ex roadies. Women especially welcome.

Tuesday 4th October   Tockholes Corner car Park

Joe, Dave, Mick, Ash & John  + me & camera. Dave already torched up before we set off on the edge of darkness!

Tuesday 26th  April   Tockholes Corner car Park

Two runners missing from the photograph, the lovebirds, Brian & Eileen, they'd set off earlier to get in a decent fell run. & of course the one behind the lens, our Chairperson, Mick Mack.

The bunch above split into two groups. Karen Nash came along to show the younger ones how to run. Well she did have on her new New Balance shoes. Even the blogger is on this picture & still awake. There was a complaint about the amount of Tarmac trampolening that was done by the slower ones. The guy who makes us all look like a whiter shade of pale is Steve Bamber. Mike Simon graced us with his presence prior to his trip to Spain. We did a pub quiz later, but didn't win the £620.00 prize.

Next week is the Great Hill Handicap, come on Sarah Gohil, make it 3 ladies at least. (& ask Phillipa).

Tuesday 19th  April   Nick of Pendle

The crowd turned out for the Nick of Pendle run

Tuesday 5th  April   Fell Foot

Greater Spotted Love Birds seen on Parlick (First sighting this year).

Our Intrepid President was behind the lens for this moment to remember.

Our Glorious Chairman presents the V60 Trophy at last, to Brian Dearnaly. (for last season).

Well It's some few weeks since an addition to this page! Reason I was in the dark, we were all in the dark. Bur last weekend the clocks did what they always do, which way? I forget, but it means that the nights are lighter. So we met at.....it says above. There were so many I was gobsmacked, dumbstruck, but not without my camera. So here they all are. A pint for somebody who can name them all for me (by midnight) from Mick Mc our most obliging Chairman. There is for those who don't know by now, the great George Arnold (hatted) ex Preston AC. I've tried for years to get him to join & failed. Only the close down of Preston AC brought it about.

By the way it is a genuine competition, answer the question (before midnight tonight) & you get a pint from Mick. The difficult one is hiding behind Steve Taylor ( clue? it's Pete Carter). 15 of us (including the behind the lens guy).

1st February 2005

The Fell Running Section met at the Fisherman's

Layby at 7.00pm tonight. No it's not April 1st, it's real

and only Feb.1st. After ascending Darwen Moor in the dark

they reassembled for free butties and Quiz night at

the Dressers Arms.

As is obvious we were doing very well & scored 10 on

10 in the first section of the quiz. (£1000.00 First Prize).

At that very point Jim Doherty went to watch Man Utd on

TV in another room (playing the Gunners). As Jim was

watching Man U scored 2 further goals, though I don't think

we scored any more points in the quiz. Jim why did you

desert us when we needed you most?

Mick thinking what might have been. What's Man U got

that we haven't?  If only Jim had stayed! We could

have had a grand time.

Anyway we all learned something tonight from John

Griffiths . Currently only 43% of learner drivers pass their

Driving Test first time! That's about the percentage

points we got in the quiz.

 8th February 2005

Only a shadow of their last weeks' selves. Where have

all the flowers gone? Well Joe's excused on matrimonial duty.

But the rest? Perhaps they're still recovering from their

running in the dark injuries of a week ago! John Griffiths was

tired tonight, he'd made pancakes & tossed them for the kids

before coming out running.
